Weapon supplier for contract killing in Patong arrested by CIB Officers of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Thai police have arrested the second person involved in the contract killing of an alleged member of the Swedish criminal community in Patong. Following the hitman, the man who supplied the killer with weapons to carry out the order was arrested. The alleged member of the Swedish ethnic criminal group, a Swedish and Iraqi citizen named Ameer Mundher Mahmood, was shot dead on February 7 near the C&N Hotel on Siriraj Rd. in Patong. The killer was arrested on February 8 at a hotel near Phuket International Airport, where he was waiting for a flight to Qatar. The perpetrator turned out to be a Colombian citizen named Fernando Estaid Guevara Sanchez. According to today's CIB press release, the weapon supplier was also identified promptly. On February 12, the Phuket Provincial Court issued an arrest warrant for a 33-year-old man named Amir, a British passport holder. The charges included aiding and abetting premeditated murder and all other charges filed against Fernando Sanchez, the direct killer. Amir was arrested only on May 15. The man was found in a condominium in Pattaya; he had not left the country in the three months since the murder. The arrest was carried out by CSD officers, the anti-criminal unit of the CIB, specializing in high-risk operations. Photos from the operational activities show that during the search of the man's apartment, police seized a large sum of cash, but no weapons were captured in the images. "Police believe the roots of the murder lie in a conflict within an international drug cartel," writes The Phuket News (https://www.thephuketnews.com/brit-arrested-over-providing-gun-for-patong-cartel-killing-100249.php). Two days before Amir's arrest (May 13), Phuket law enforcement seized an arsenal of weapons discovered by employees of the MeSpace Self Storage service (https://t.me/novostiphuketa/22875). Four identical Glock pistols, a CZ pistol, and 100 rounds of ammunition for them were stored in a cell rented by one Elmi Ahmed Mohamed. Like Ameer Mundher Mamood, who was shot dead in February, the man is a Swedish citizen. Employees of MeSpace Self Storage (https://maps.app.goo.gl/2BScYVvbcdB1mTux6) opened Elmi Ahmed Mohamed's cell after four months had passed since the last payment. If we count from May 13, the last payment was made on January 13, and by February 13, the man had not paid for storage. Ameer Mundher Mamood was shot dead on February 7.
